Bluestone Academy accepts applications throughout the year, with start dates scheduled across the seasons, so you can begin when the timing is right for you. A campus tour is the best way to know if Bluestone is right for you. You’ll see our classrooms and student salon, meet the instructors who will guide your training, and experience the welcoming, family-like atmosphere our students love. Bring your questions: this is your chance to picture yourself here and imagine the career ahead. Most visitors leave with a clear sense of whether the program is the right fit, and our team is happy to take as much time as you need.
Once you’re enrolled, orientation helps you settle in and get to know your instructors and classmates. From there, you’ll quickly move into the hands-on learning that defines a Bluestone education. Our small classes mean you won’t get lost in the crowd: you’ll have support and individualized attention from day one as you build the foundation of your new career.
Choosing a school and starting an application can feel like a big step, and you don’t have to navigate it alone. Applications are accepted year-round. The Cosmetology course has seasonal starts (fall, winter, spring, and summer), and the Esthetics, Nail Technology, and Instructor programs start on a rolling basis as demand allows. Contact us for the next available start date.

Requirements vary by program. The simplest way to confirm you’re eligible is to contact our admissions team, and we’ll walk you through everything you need to get started.
Absolutely. From your first question to your first day, our admissions team is here to guide you and make enrolling as smooth as possible.
You’re in good company. Many of our students come to beauty from other fields, drawn to the creative, hands-on, people-focused nature of the work. We’ll help you make the transition smoothly and answer any questions along the way.
We accept transfer students on a case-by-case basis. The student must meet all the admission requirements, and have a certified copy of their transcripts from the Washington school they wish to transfer hours from*.
Bluestone Academy reserves the right to accept or decline any transfer hours or portion of, at the sole discretion of the Director. (*Hours acquired at a school outside Washington state cannot be accepted.)
Students may transfer hours from a completed program taken at Bluestone Academy, to a second program, the hours transferred depends upon the program(s) completed already. We will not transfer a student already attending Bluestone Academy into another program, prior to completion of the first program.
The best first step is to visit. We encourage every prospective student to schedule a tour so you can see our downtown facility, meet instructors, watch the program in action, and get a feel for our community before you apply.
